Terms of Service

Last updated November 3, 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and the team behind What Did You Make? (“we”, “us”) for using whatdidyoumake.com. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them.

1The service

What Did You Make? lets makers list products they built (“launches”) and lets everyone browse, upvote and discuss them. Free accounts can launch; paid plans add product slots and a launch day of your choosing; boosts and sidebar sponsorships are paid placements. Prices and what each plan includes are on the pricing page.

2Your account

  • You must be at least 16 and able to form a binding contract. If you use the site for a company, you accept these terms for it.
  • Give accurate details, keep your password safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under it.
  • One person, one account for voting. Accounts made to vote, comment or claim perks in bulk may be removed.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Profile.

3Launches and the badge

  • Launch only things you made or helped make, that people can try, and that follow the launch guidelines.
  • Free launches go live 24 hours after we find our badge, linking to the launch's page, on the website you gave. Keep it up: we check again from time to time, and a launch without it drops out of Featured and loses its followed link.
  • Each plan holds a set number of products. Paid plans can pick the launch time.
  • You may edit or delete your launches. Once live, a launch's launch time is fixed.

4Your content

You keep ownership of everything you submit: launch text and images, comments, your profile, sponsor cards. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, show, reproduce and adapt it (for example resizing images) to run and promote the site, including in the digest, on social media, in /llms.txt and to search engines. The licence ends when you delete the content, except where it was already shared or we must keep a copy by law.

You promise you have the rights to what you submit and that it doesn't break the law or anyone else's rights. If you use Autofill, check the draft before you submit it: it's built from your own website and may be wrong.

5Rules

Don't:

  • Rig votes or rankings: vote rings, swaps, buying votes, or using several accounts.
  • Post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, deceptive, malware, or that infringes someone's rights.
  • Spam, scrape at scale, or overload the site; probe or break its security; or get around rate limits, plan limits or the badge check.
  • Impersonate anyone, or launch someone else's product as your own.

We may remove content, take down launches, cancel votes, or suspend accounts that break these rules, and we'll usually tell you why. Report anything that breaks them through the contact form.

7Third-party services

Sign in with Google, payments, email and video embeds are provided by other companies under their own terms. Links to makers' and sponsors' websites lead off the site; we don't control those sites and aren't responsible for them or for the products listed here.

8Ending things

You can stop using the site and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or end the service with reasonable notice. If we close your account without cause while you have a paid plan, we refund the unused part.

9Disclaimers and liability

The site is provided “as is”. We don't promise any amount of traffic, votes, sales, search ranking or other results from a launch, boost or sponsorship, and we don't guarantee the site will always be available or error-free.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits or data), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose, or US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.

You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim is brought against us because of content you submitted or your breach of these terms.

10Changes and the rest

We may update these terms. We change the date at the top, and for changes that matter we email signed-in users before they take effect. Continuing to use the site afterwards means you accept them.

If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term isn't giving it up. Our privacy policy and refund policy are part of these terms. Questions: hello@whatdidyoumake.com.
