Refund Policy
Last updated November 3, 2026. Launching is free, so you only pay for extras. If something you paid for didn't work out, here's when you can get your money back.
1How to ask
Use the contact form (pick “Refund”) or write to hello@whatdidyoumake.com from the email on your account. Include what you bought and when. We reply within 2 business days.
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, so approved refunds are sent back through Dodo to the card or account you paid with, in the same currency. They usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
2Plans (Maker and Studio)
- Cancel any time from Billing. You keep the plan until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- First payment: a full refund if you ask within 7 days and haven't yet launched or scheduled anything using the plan.
- Renewal you forgot to cancel: a full refund if you ask within 7 days of the renewal and haven't used the plan since.
- Otherwise we don't refund part of a period you've started.
- A refunded plan ends straight away. Your products stay up, but you can't add more than the Free plan allows, and launches waiting for a date you picked follow the Free rules.
3Boosts
- Not started yet (for example on a launch that isn't live): a full refund.
- Already running: no refund for the days used. If an outage on our side kept your boost from showing for a day or more, we add those days back, or refund them if you prefer.
- If we take down a launch for breaking the rules, its boost isn't refunded.
- Free boost days (from Studio or the community perk) have no cash value and can't be refunded.
4Sidebar sponsorships
- If we turn your card down, or the week turns out to be full or already started when your payment arrives: a full refund, without you having to ask.
- You cancel 7 or more days before your week starts (Monday, 00:00 UTC): a full refund.
- Less than 7 days before: no refund, but we can move you once to another open week.
- Once your week has started: no refund.
5Mistakes and duplicates
Charged twice, charged the wrong amount, or charged for something you didn't get? Tell us and we refund it in full.
6EU and UK customers
If you buy as a consumer in the EU or UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. Boosts, plans and sponsorships start being provided right away, at your request. By buying, you agree to that and accept that you lose the right to withdraw once the service has been fully provided. If you withdraw earlier, we refund the price minus the part already provided, as the law requires. This adds to the rules above; it doesn't replace them.
7Chargebacks
Please talk to us before disputing a charge with your bank; we can usually sort it out faster. While a chargeback is open, we may pause the boost, plan or sponsorship it covers.
